Gout Flare

Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis that causes sudden, intense pain, swelling, and redness—most commonly in the big toe, but it can affect other joints as well. It’s caused by a buildup of uric acid in the blood, which forms sharp crystals in the joints. Gout flare-ups can be extremely painful, but with the right treatment and lifestyle changes, they can be managed and even prevented.
